About the Author
Jim Volz is a longtime theatre critic/columnist for Back Stage magazine, former Managing Director of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and is the editor of the Shakespeare publication, Quarto. He is a professor at California State University, Fullerton.

A must read for anyone involved in community theater.

I volunteer for a community theater group doin publicity and other business related activities. This book has proved to be an invaluable reference manual for what I need to do and how it should be done. Community theaters often fail because they concentrate too much on the creative aspects of the art and not enough on the business.
